Works of Staggering Genius by John Fladd

(Well, mostly reflections on meatloaf, Chinese death-squads and singing frogs)

I am a columnist for HippoPress Manchester, a weekly culture and arts newspaper in Manchester, New Hampshire. I've been with them for three years. Before that, I was a freelance writer and on the staff of a pair of New Hampshire papers - the Keene Sentinel (a daily) and the River Record (an associated weekly). At the moment, most of my best work is for my column, "Almost Gruntled", which runs every other week or so in HippoPress. The column has been awarded the New Hampshire Press Association's award for Column of the Year (Humorous) twice.

Here are a selection of my stories that I am particularly proud of. They come from a variety of publications. Please keep in mind that they are presented in the form in which they were submitted to my editors; they are not necessarily identical to the stories as they were published. (Stories with asterixes ((asterae?)) are particularly recommended.)
